Name: Sam Visnic
Hometown: Las Vegas
Nickname: The Professor
Favorite quote: “People always tell me they procrastinate… but I always say, well, why don’t you just procrastinate on your procrastination, you know, so you just never get around to doing it?” –RB
3 adjectives that describe you: Detailed, understanding, forever student
How did you end up becoming a neuromuscular therapist?: Exercise has always been my passion, but I remember early on in my studies in corrective exercise my mentor told me, “you’ll never reach your best without learning how to be a great hands-on therapist”. So I went to massage school and fell in love with the work. Neuromuscular therapy was a natural addition to my studies based on the type of people I wanted to work with.
3 most important things when it comes to wellness: Integration is the key to it all. Building and sustaining health is all about maximizing one’s capacity for adaptation. A great therapist is one that can remove one “kink” in the hose and the rest just unwinds as a result.
Hobbies outside of the gym: Reading nerd stuff, beach volleyball, taking my daughter to the park
Favorite food: Grilled Cheese
Dream vacation: Hotel room on the beach with a view, my family, an espresso and nothing on my schedule
Theme song: Everybody Wants To Rule The World; Tears for Fears
What does it mean to you to have ideal wellness?: The capacity to cope with the greatest degree of stress before breaking down.
What do you love most about IRON?: The supportive community
