3 adjectives that describe you: Hard-working. Ambitious. Dance to the beat of my own drum.
How did you end up becoming a trainer/class instructor?: I worked in a corporate setting for several years, traveling frequently, which was incredibly exhausting. I noticed that I performed the best at my job when I was healthiest, fittest, and getting into the gym most days a week. I was not only mentally alert and expedient with my work, but also confident, full of energy, and rarely lost my cool. Another cool perk was being strong. I wanted this fit, active lifestyle to be mine forever, and I wanted to make it my job so I could help others improve their health, fitness, and productivity.
Describe your class style: Relentless! Get your mind ready for what your body is going to do! Warm-up like you mean it!
Describe your teaching/training style/philosophy: I ensure there is first a solid foundation in aerobic capacity, stability, strength, and mobility before advancing. Proper form is established before loading and progressing. I prioritize nutrition, as well as rest/recovery time, and maintaining low stress levels.

What does it mean to you to have ideal fitness?: It means being strong, stable, conditioned, mobile, flexible, agile, and explosive. But being fit isn’t the whole picture in my opinion. Being well is. I believe ideal fitness can’t be achieved without a strong mind-body connection and — mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Wellness requires giving deep care to everything that encompasses our being — not just our body, but also our thoughts, emotions, passions, fears, strengths, weaknesses, illness, wellness, inside-out and head-to-toe. I believe it is only when well and whole, in addition to being fit, that we have the capacity to fully appreciate others and contribute the best of ourselves to the world.
What do you love most about IRON?: It’s a unique, well-equipped space that feels like a small community.
